AMRITA SØRENSEN (MA, PGDip)
I'm a psychotherapist and counsellor based in Singapore, specialising in adult psychology.
Originally from the UK, my approach is grounded in evidence-based therapeutic models including Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness and Somatic Healing. I use these frameworks flexibly, working collaboratively with each client to meet their unique needs and goals.
With extensive experience working with both expatriates and local clients, I bring an integrative, compassionate, and culturally informed approach to therapy—supporting individuals navigating life transitions, anxiety, trauma, depression, and relationship challenges.
I offer a therapeutic space that’s not only safe and non-judgmental, but also deeply attuned to the complexities of identity, belonging, and emotional resilience. Whether you're managing high-functioning anxiety, working through past trauma, or simply feeling stuck, I aim to meet you exactly where you are.
Testimonials…
“Working with Amrita over the past nine months has truly been life-changing. She’s helped me process a lot of my emotions, untangle layered family dynamics, and explore parts of myself I hadn’t given space to before. I love that our sessions aren’t just talking—she also brings in gentle somatic practices that help me feel the shifts in my body. I walk out of every session feeling lighter, brighter, and more like myself.”
“I cannot begin to explain how much Amrita as helped me in our few months together. She’s helped me discover and uncover parts of myself I didn’t know were still issues, all while making me feel safe and validated. As a 30 year old man, I always thought counselling was just about talking about your feelings and somebody telling you it’s okay. I was honestly surprised by the depths of myself which we went to together. I dare say I am a better person, and far more in touch with myself after having spent 3 months with Amrita. Thank you Amrita.”
